Maxine Ansah is a legal practitioner currently working with MacCarthy & Associates. She undertook the Bar Professional Training Course at The Gambia Law School and was subsequently called to the Bar in The Gambia. Her work includes legal research, drafting, and providing support on a range of legal matters. She has also worked with various local and international organisations in different capacities.

Maxine holds an LLB from Lancaster University and a Master’s degree (M.A) in International Affairs and Diplomacy from the Legon Centre for International Affairs and Diplomacy (LECIAD), University of Ghana. She has participated in several Model United Nations conferences, where she developed strong skills in negotiation, public speaking, and policy analysis.

She brings strong legal research and drafting skills, clear written and verbal communication, sound analytical judgement, and the ability to work effectively across legal, policy, and institutional settings

Her long-term goal is to practise international law, with a focus on fairness, accountability, and the protection of vulnerable groups, particularly women and young people. She is committed to using legal and diplomatic tools to promote just and inclusive systems across Africa and beyond.
